I Grade Criteria
A grade of incomplete may be assigned by the instructor if the student's work in a course has been of passing quality but is incomplete due to circumstances beyond the student's control.
Completion Deadlines for Undergraduates
All undergraduates must observe the following deadlines for replacement of an I grade.

Graduate students do not have a specified deadline for the replacement of an I grade. The method of replacement of the I grade by a final grade is determined by the Dean of the Graduate Division and the Graduate Council.
Incomplete Petition
All students must file an incomplete petition as follows:
- There is a $ 5.00 fee for fall and spring courses.
- Do not accept the petition if it does not bear proof of the fee payment.
- Please verify the information in Section I.
- Complete section II of the petition.
- Assign the grade and the completion date.
- If the completion date is within the term the incomplete is received, see instructions for changing a grade.
- Sign the petition. The Department Chair may sign on behalf of the instructor.
- Please check with your department for any other instructions before submitting.
- Mail the petition:

Please Note: The Office of the Registrar will not accept petitions turned in by the student. Petitions must be turned in by the instructor or departmental staff.
