eGrades on Bear Facts

An instructor may discover they cannot see their courses on Bear Facts.  Although an instructor’s name may look correct on DB2:Class and Room, if the name is not connected to the Employee ID (EIM), the instructor will not see the courses.

Follow the steps below to be able see your courses on Bear Facts:

• Bring up the course.
• Blank out the initials of the first name, hit enter.  This takes you to the instructor database.
• Scroll down to the correct name with EID, hit enter.
• Record should now be updated.
• Course will be available on Bear Facts the next day.

Important Facts about Grading

• Access to e-Grades opened on October 22.

• Deadline to submit eGrades is December 19, 2012 at 11:55pm.
• Instructors who are unable to make the deadline may request an extension by contacting egrades@berkeley.edu or the eGrades hotline at 642-0179.
• Instructors teaching special study courses or have students doing research are required to submit grades for these students.
• Grades are available the next day for viewing after submission on Bear Facts.
• Contact egrades@berkeley.edu or the eGrades hotline at642-0179 with questions.
• Print out the reports from Bear Facts; either one by one or in batch so you have a record of your grades.
• When instructors are sure grades were submitted but the report does not indicate this, check the display printable report.   “DRAFT” means the grades are not finalized.
• Only instructors with CSIR codes 1 and 3 can submit grades.
• A faculty sponsor is needed for instructors with CSIR codes 2 or 4.
• If a student is on the list that the instructor does not know, a grade of F, NP, or U should be assigned. For students not on list, refer them to college.

Here are a few things to consider so final examinations will go smoothly:

• Final examination room assignments can be found on the Online Schedule of Classes.  The printed version of the Schedule of Final Examinations was mailed to department schedulers on 11/16/12.
• Faculty members should check out their final examination room in advance by (1) visiting the classroom; or (2) looking at classroom on the Office of the Registrar Website (http://registrar.berkeley.edu/bybuilding.html.
