American History and Institutions - Assist.org

To find a course at a community college that you can take before entering UC Berkeley to satisfy both the American History and Institutions requirements:

1. Go to assist.org
2. Select University of California, Berkeley
3. Select the year you're interested in, e.g., 08-09
4. Select a California community college, e.g., Berkeley City College
5. Under "For General Education/Breadth," select > "Information - American History & Institutions Requirements"
6. The community college course(s) approved for satisfying the Requirements appear on the right side of the page.
7. * If taken before you entered UC Berkeley, any one approved course listed on Assist.org will satisfy both AH&I. Refer to AH&I policy.
   * If taken after you entered UC Berkeley, one approved history course will satisfy the American History requirement, and one approved Political Science/U.S. Government course will satisfy the American Institutions requirement. Refer to AH&I policy.
