How to Complete the Statement of Legal Residence / Applying for Residency

What is the Statement of Legal Residence?

The Statement of Legal Residence (SLR) is a form that students complete to determine how much fees they will have to pay. The completion of the SLR is mandatory for all new students. If you do not complete the SLR by the deadline, you will be classified as a nonresident and will be assessed fees as a nonresident on your billing statement. If you are a continuing student who is nonresident, you may submit a petition to change your residence classification.
