Class Lists on Bear Facts

The Class List screen displays the official roster of enrolled students from the Office of the Registrar, along with their photos. Information in Bear Facts is not live, but is uploaded nightly remaining static throughout the day. If students do not appear on this list, they are not enrolled and you will not be able to submit grades for them. You cannot edit the Class List screen, but you can export the list into a spreadsheet for printing or manipulation in your own application.

If you maintain your own grade file, using Excel, use this function to view the official list before you upload your grades through eGrades (see Upload Grades).

Using this tool, you can


To View a Class List:


Select CLASS LIST in the Action dropdown menu on the Main Menu screen. Click GO. The Class List screen appears.

Explanation of Columns:
  • 2ndry Sect1 = Secondary section in which the student is enrolled.
  • Lvl = Class level (1 = Freshman status, 2 = Sophomore status, 3 = Junior status, 4 = Senior status). This is the level a student has including units transferred in from high school enrichment, e.g. Advanced Placement units.
  • Non AP = Class level (1 = first year undergraduate, 2 = second year undergraduate, etc.)
  • Reg = Registration Status (N = New, C = Continuing, R = Returning, V = Visitor) An asterisk (*) means the student is enrolled in the class, but not fully registered as a student. The asterisk will disappear when the student is registered.
  • Col = UCB College Code, e.g. 25 = Letters & Science, 10 = Chemistry, 04 = Engineering, 07 = Natural Resources.
  • Major = Major Code. Each major on campus has a 3-digit code, e.g. 882 = Spanish Language & Literature, 1A1 = Chemical Biology
  • Cred Code = Credit Code (Blank = Letter grade, PN = Pass/Not Pass, SF = Satisfactory/Unsatisfactory)
  • Units = Number of units the student will earn. This can vary in variable unit classes, such as Independent Study Courses.

Download Your Class List

To export the class list screen into an Excel spreadsheet, click DOWNLOAD AS SPREADSHEET. The data will appear in a downloads box.

Double click on the Downloads box and the data will appear in Excel.

Email Your Class

You can use the EMAIL CLASS button to email your entire class at once.

To View a Wait List

Select WAIT LIST in the Action dropdown menu on the Main Menu screen. Click GO. The Wait List screen appears. The wait list order is chronological, based upon what date students added themselves. (This is different from bspace, where students on the wait list are listed alphabetically.)
