Mondays through Fridays, 8 a.m. - 10:30 p.m.

Saturdays and Sundays, 8 a.m. - 10:00 p.m.

Important: First Three Weeks of Instruction

During the first three weeks of instruction, rooms are not available for special events between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m., Mondays through Fridays.

Who is Eligible to Reserve a Classroom?

• Academic Departments - Designated staff in academic departments may submit room reservation requests for departmental events via the online reservation request form. Requests must be submitted no later than 10:00 am on the day of the event.
  • Faculty - Please see the designated scheduler in your department. Every academic department has at least two persons recognized by our office. To find out who your designated scheduler is, click here or call 510.642.0313.
• Administrative Offices - Staff in administrative offices may submit room reservation requests for university events via the online reservation request form. Requests must be submitted no later than 10:00 am on the day of the event.
• Student Groups - Signatories for registered student groups may make reservations during the current semester through the last day of instruction.
  
• Staff Organizations - Registered staff organizations may submit room reservation requests for staff events via the online reservation request form. Requests must be submitted no later than 10:00 am on the day of the event.
• Non-University Users of General Assignment Classroom - Special restrictions apply.

Cancelling General Assignment Classrooms

Confirmed special event room reservations can be cancelled via the online cancellation form.

General Guidelines for Reserving Rooms for Special Events

• During the first three weeks of the semester, we are still shifting rooms for the academic schedule, so cannot make any special event room reservations for M-F 8 a.m. through 6 p.m. You can still submit the request for use of a room after the third week, but we will not act on your request until the fourth week.
• Same day requests must be submitted by 10 am on the day of the event.
• Evening and weekend requests can be submitted up to one year in advance. This does not apply to student groups.
• Fees
  • There is a fee of $27.65 per hour (or fraction thereof) to reserve rooms after 10 pm on weekends and after 10:30 pm on weekdays. The fee to reserve rooms during holidays is $41.47 per hour.
  • Fees are due by noon on the Friday before the event. Please pay at the Custodial Services Office, at 2223 Fulton Street, Suite #210. You can call them at 510.643.5675.

Room lockouts

If you are locked out of your reserved room after 5 pm during the week or anytime Saturday and Sunday, please call 510.642.1032. Make sure to carry your confirmation of the reservation with you, as you may be asked to show it.
