How to use these pages.

If you have browsed the Office of the Registrar's site before, you'll notice that we have made a number of changes to the structure, as well as updated the content. We hope you find this information useful. When you enter pages through the staff menu of this website, relevant FAQS and calendars will be pulled into the appropriate pages. If you have suggestions for improving navigation on this website, or making updates to content, please email orweb@berkeley.edu.

Academic Records & Transcripts

Grade Information: Grading policies, calculating the GPA, assisting faculty with grade changes

Transcripts: This is the page students use to order transcripts.

Transferring Credit to UCB: What to tell students who ask about transferring credit to Cal.

Diplomas, Degrees & Graduation: Links to the pages students see to order diplomas. Information about timing for the declaring degree candidacy, where to send students and other information about graduation.

Degree Audit (DARS): What an advisor needs to know about the Degree Audit Reporting System.

General Information: Information about FERPA (privacy of student records), directories of staff in the Office of the Registrar.

Registration & Enrollment

Enrollment Information: These are the pages that students see to give them direction on how to enroll in classes. You can see a link to registration blocking policy here.

Course Information: This page will provide you with links to the Online Schedule of Classes, the General Catalog, final exam information, give you information about deadlines for dropping courses, and more.

Special Registration Programs: Includes links to information about cross-registration programs, international visitor's programs, reciprocity programs, etc.

Registration Fees: This is the page students see that show current fees, with links to archived information about fees.

Billing: This is the page students see with information about how to pay fees, and payment schedules.

Cancellation / Withdrawal / Readmission: These are student pages that define the difference between withdrawal and cancellation and inform students who have withdrawn how to go about getting readmitted to Cal.

Classroom Management

Special Events Reservations: If you are interested in scheduling a room for a special event (not for an academic class), check the information on this page.

Academic Class Scheduling: This page is for staff who are designated as departmental schedulers, or for those who assist with building the curriculum for a class.

Classrooms and Classroom Concerns: You can look here to search for classrooms by building, number of seats, or attributes. Or check here for the hotline to call if you are locked out of a room, tables are missing, or other problems.

Scheduler's Toolbox: One page with many links related to classroom scheduling, including calendars, forms, online forms and more.

Forms

Forms: These are forms that staff use for Office of the Registrar functions. We will also link you to forms that students use here.

Systems Tutorials & Information

Student Systems: This is the main landing page for the student systems, giving you a brief description of the function of each system, and links to pages for more detailed information that includes who uses the system, how to gain access, tutorials, if available, and contact information.

Tele-BEARS: This is the tutorial that students see, since staff do not have access to Tele-BEARS.

BearFacts: This is the link to information about the BearFacts system, which is used to pull reports on students within your major, contact information, grade cards, class lists, waiting lists, eGrades, among others.

DB2/Scheduling: This is your link to information about the DB2/Scheduling system for scheduling classes.

DB2/OLADS: This is your link to information about the DB2, student database, and OLADS System (online add/drop system), and how to manage enrollments for classes you manage..

DARS: This will provide you with information about how you, as a major advisor, can use DARS to update students' records or post course waivers or substitutions.

eGrading: This is the information that links you to a tutorial for eGrades, for faculty, since staff are often called upon to help faculty with technical issues.
