The processing fee for this service is $15 per document. We make arrangements to have documents notarized twice a month, usually during the first and third week of each month. For diplomas, you must provide a photocopy to notarize.

Current students may request Notary Services on CalCentral under the My Dashboard tab > Student Resources > Submit a Form> Verification Request.
Notarization for Alumni and Former Students
Alumni and former students with access may request notary services on CalCentral: Forms > Submit a Form > Enrollment/Degree Verification.
Students and alumni who no longer have access to CalCentral may request Notary Services by completing a Request for Verification of Attendance and Degrees Form (PDF) and submitting it in one of the following ways:
- Bring the form in person to Cal Student Central, 120 Sproul Hall.
- Mail the form to the Office of the Registrar address on our About page.
- Email the form to Verify-Attendance-Degrees@berkeley.edu.
Apostilles
Apostilles are available exclusively from the California Secretary of State. They certify the authenticity of signatures by California Notaries Public. If you need an Apostille for a document notarized by the Office of the Registrar, please visit the California Secretary of State for information and instruction.
An Apostille is likely not necessary for students eligible for the certified electronic diploma (beginning with Spring 2020 graduates). See the Credential Validation page for more information.
